Partners and Education

Salisbury VAMC provides a full range of services, with state-of-the-art technology, and expanding education and research programs.

Academic Partners

Salisbury VAMC is primarily affiliated with the Wake Forest University School of Medicine/Baptist Medical Center.  We offer residency training in Psychiatry, Primary Care, Ophthalmology, Infectious Diseases, Dermatology, Otolaryngology, Urology, and General Surgery.

In 2006, Salisbury became affiliated with the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (at Virginia Tech University).  We have rotating third-and fourth-year medical students across a wide-range of disciplines.

Overall, Salisbury has a total of 78 affiliations with academic institutions.

Veterans Service Organizations

VAMC Salisbury maintains a good working relationship with all of our veteran service organization (VSO) partners. We regularly brief our VSO representatives on changes impacting veterans' health care.

A Veterans Advisory Council (VAC) has been established which includes stakeholders from a number of veterans groups. The VAC meets quarterly.
