About the Program

The Primary Care Service Line provides to the veteran patient a team of health care providers who plan, coordinate and manage their comprehensive care while coordinating their treatment across all clinical settings. This care includes prevention, screenings, treatments and education to prevent or delay future illness.

The Salisbury VA has four sites for Primary Care: the Charlotte Community Based Outpatient Clinic, the Winston-Salem Clinic, the Hickory Clinic, and the Primary Care Clinics located on the Salisbury VA campus.

• Treatment of high cholesterol, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, circulation problems and a variety of other conditions
• Vaccines such as the pneumonia shot and flu shots
• Smoking cessation
