Groundbreaking Ceremony

Kernersville Map

Department of Veterans Affairs, Federal, State and local officials break ground in front of the future site of the Kernersville VA Health Care Center January 24.

Once complete, the Kernersville HCC will provide significantly expanded outpatient services over the current Winston-Salem Community-Based Outpatient Clinic and is expected to serve more than 30,000 N.C. Veterans annually as part of the Salisbury VA Medical Center's health care system.

Kernersville HCC

The Kernersville Veterans Affairs Health Care Center, scheduled to open in spring 2016, will provide easier access to care for Veterans in the Triad area – consisting of Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point and the surrounding areas.

The HCC will offer enhanced out-patient primary care and specialty services for an estimated 34,000 Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system.

The Kernersville Health Care Center is one of only seven HCC’s approved for construction in 2010. The 280,000 net usable square feet planned for the facility will make it larger than many medical centers.

The Kernersville Health Care Center, a four-story health care facility, will be located on a 40-acre site and willprovide more than 20 different medical services to VA patients.

Additionally, The Kernersville Veterans Affairs Health Care Center will have more than 1,900 parking spaces to ensure we can serve as many Veterans as possible.
