sponsor End-of-Life Care Program
The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center Hospice and Palliative Care and Rowan Regional Medical Center Hospice are sponsoring a special Cancer and End-of-Life Care program on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. The event will be held at the Hefner VA in the Social Room in Building 6, from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The Hospice Foundation of America (HFA) 2010 teleconference, Cancer and End-of-Life Care, will address care options related to cancer diagnoses, as well as loss and grief reactions for patients, families and professional care-givers. The teleconference will also examine psychosocial aspects of cancer, pain management, and ethical issues related to the disease. Participating on the panel will be Yvette Colon, Ph.D., M.S.W.; Malene Davis, M.B.A., M.S.N., R.N., C.H.P.N.; Kenneth J. Doka, Ph.D., M.Div.; Richard Payne, M.D.; Sherry R. Schachter, Ph.D., F.T.; and Brad Stuart, M.D. Frank Sesno, Director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University, will moderate the teleconference.
