Salisbury VA Report on Access to Veterans Health Care - SALISBURY, N.C. – Salisbury VA health care system remains committed to our mission of providing Veterans the highest quality healthcare possible in a timely manner and safe environment. We are currently analyzing the results of recent audit reports and other information released by the Department of Veterans Affairs on June 9. Salisbury VA Celebrates Native American Heritage Month - Hefner VA Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, N.C. will celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a special program on Thursday, November 15, 2012, in the Social Room in Building 6. The event opens with informational displays at 10:00 a.m., and at 11:30 a.m. will feature Native American dancing, flutes, drumming and smudging. Acute Inpatient Dialysis Unit opens at Salisbury VA - On September 10, 2012, the new acute dialysis unit became operational at W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Salisbury, N.C. Director's Letter to Editor - Last year, VA provided specialty mental health services to more than 1.3 million Veterans -- a 35 percent increase since 2007 in the number of Veterans who received mental health services at VA. That’s why we recently announced that VA will add an additional 1,600 mental health staff professionals and an additional 300 support staff members nationwide, including 16 here in the Central Piedmont region of North Carolina.
