Wreaths Across America comes to Salisbury
Holiday memorial wreaths decorate the graves at Salisbury National Cemetery.
On Saturday, December 11, a wreath-laying ceremony took place at Salisbury National Cemetery. The ceremony was part of a national observance at more than 350 National Cemeteries across the country, in all 50 states and U.S. possessions. Each year holiday memorial wreaths are donated by Worcester Wreath Company located in Maine for the observance.
Participating in the ceremony were members of the American Legion Riders Post 55, Patriot Guard, and Crossed Rifles from the Winston-Salem area, who made their annual holiday ride to Salisbury. Following the ceremony at the National Cemetery, the riders visited with patients at the Salisbury VA Medical Center, and delivered holiday cards and greetings. They generously presented a donation to the medical center in the amount of $6,164, which will be used for various veterans' needs and projects at the center.
