Overnight accommodations for Veterans with scheduled clinic appointments or procedures offering a bed, linens, private bath and evening meal.
Veterans who live more than 50 miles from the VA with a scheduled clinic appointment/procedure within a day of their Hoptel stay and are physically and psychologically independent, able to attend to their own needs (i.e. medication administration, feeding, toileting, dressing, etc.) are eligible. Veterans requiring continual supervision immediately following a procedure will not be allowed to stay in the Hoptel.
Veterans should notify their provider or clinic if lodging services will be needed. Reservations must be scheduled prior to arrival. Anyone without a reservation will be wait-listed as those Veterans with reservations will be given priority.
Allowed in Hoptel:
Veterans are asked to bring a valid photo identification (i.e. a state issued driver's license, passport, or your VA photo ID card). This is required to check into the Hoptel. Food items and/or enough money to buy food and other items you may wish to purchase during your stay are also permitted. lodgers can also bring medications and/or other self administered medical equipment as prescribed by your health care provider. Bring only personal clothing and toiletries that you will need for your stay. You may need to bring an alarm clock if a specified wake up time is needed.
Not permitted in Hoptel:
Veterans cannot bring animals/pets that are not service animals. Guns, firearms, weapons or explosives of any type are also not permitted. lodgers may also not possess alcoholic beverages or any illegal substances while staying in the Hoptel. Personal appliances such as hot plates are not permitted. Soliciting, vending or selling merchandise is not tolerated at the Hoptel. sexual misconduct, destroying property, and/or creating a disturbance is unacceptable behavior. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.
